Hello, Region Ten members.
Where has the time gone? I enjoyed meeting those of you who made your way to The ARA Show™ this year. I know that it was tough all-around with the pandemic and everyone being short-staffed, but we all made the best of it. Now we look forward to carrying on the momentum from the show.
We are getting some webinars together for our members across the American Rental Association’s (ARA) Region 10. A webinar on HR assistance and other resources ARA has available for members is in the planning stages — watch for details soon.
Have you logged onto the ARA website lately to see what is there? ARArental.org is your go-to space for plenty of training tools, tips and tricks on how to get the most out of your membership. The slower winter months is a great time to get your drivers brushed up with the Professional Driver Education Program, which is specifically designed for construction and general tool rental, or the Box Truck Training that is designed for party and event companies. Both these programs are in-depth, rental-specific courses tailored exclusively for your drivers.
I know that the current staffing shortage isn’t unique to any particular province, nor is it unique to Canada. But with any luck, we will see this start to turn around over the coming months. One way to help your business through this situation is to take advantage of the new ARA Job Board. ARA members who use the job board to post positions can get the first five postings at no charge. Why not utilize that?
I am happy to hop on a call with any of you to discuss your needs and ideas about ARA benefits that could make for an even stronger association for all of us here in Canada.
Until next time, stay healthy and keep a Clean. Safe. Essential. rental operation.
