Baseball was on tap at the ARA of Colorado event

Baseball fans came out for an ARA of Colorado favorite — a night at the ballpark on Saturday, Sept. 24, to see the Colorado Rockies take on the San Diego Padres at Coors Field in Denver.

Rental operators and their families watched the game in style from the vantage point of The Rooftop. They also enjoyed a delicious buffet of ballpark food and concessions while connecting with their peers.

ARA of Colorado President Jeff Jackson, president, All Purpose Rental & Sales, Greeley, Colo., was thrilled with the turnout. “We had more than 90 people registered to attend the event, including an ARA [American Rental Association] member from California and one from Washington state who happened to be in town and were able to attend. That was great,” he says.

Social events like this “are always a great time to connect with peers, talk about business — current equipment, the shortage of equipment, the state of the economy and what one might expect the future will hold — as well as enjoy some baseball. While the outcome of the game wasn’t what we wanted, we had a fun outing,” Jackson says.

ARA Region Seven Director Andrew Heesacker, president, Arvada Rent-Alls, Arvada, Colo., agrees. “Unfortunately, the Rockies lost 9-3, but it didn’t stop us from having a great time,” he says.

That was the sentiment of ARA of Colorado Vice President Meagan Priest, manager, Chair Rental, Englewood, Colo. “It was a perfect Colorado day. The weather was great and the company was even better. I would have loved a Rockies win, but overall it was a super-enjoyable evening. I really appreciate the fact that our state chapter hosted this event so we could all get together and catch up,” she says.

While Jackson, Heesacker and Priest have attended many ARA of Colorado baseball game events, this was a first for Ian Iringan, outside sales rep, Arvada Rent-Alls, Littleton, Colo.

“I have been to Rockies games before, but this was the first time going to a game sponsored by the ARA of Colorado,” he says. “I have seen trainings held by the ARA at our locations, but this is the first social type of event I have had the opportunity to attend. I wanted to go because I wanted to get more involved in the state chapter and ARA. I will be attending the ARA Young Professionals Conference in November, so this was a great opportunity to get my feet wet and meet others. And for as many times as I have been to a Rockies game, I have never made my way to the Rooftop, so it was exciting to see that.”

Iringan is so glad he went with his fiancée. “It was very fun. We got there super-early — at 4 p.m. We went to the patio and oversaw the baseball field and then went to the Rooftop bar. That was definitely something to do and see — a good experience, and the view is amazing. You can see the whole Front Range, the city and everything. It is so beautiful. And the people we talked with were very kind, making us feel very welcomed. The buffet was delicious, too,” he says.

Like the others, Iringan was disappointed by the Rockies’ loss, but that didn’t dampen his enthusiasm for the event. “It was great. I will absolutely go to other ARA of Colorado events — 100 percent,” he says.
