On April 13, the ARA of Minnesota hosted a memorable night of ax-chucking, mini golf, bocce, arcade games, food and drink. With these ingredients, the spring social at Victoria Burrow in Victoria, Minn., delivered plenty of fun, shenanigans and industry camaraderie.
“The event was great as I have not seen many of my rental peers due to COVID,” says Kim Kim, CERP, owner, Epic Event Rental, Eden Prairie, Minn. “The venue was awesome — it had something for everyone. The best part was meeting new rental people and reconnecting with others. It’s always great to have these social events to be reminded of how strong the Minnesota rental community is.”
The overall sentiment shared by those who attended was joy in seeing rental friends old and new.
“The event was well-attended by new prospective YPN [Young Professional Network] members as well as veteran rental members. It was great to get everyone back together,” says Joshua Swanson, territory sales manager, Great Northern Equipment Distributing, Rogers, Minn., and ARA of Minnesota associate member director.
“Seeing all my rental friends is always great,” adds Jerry Kortesmaki, owner, London Road Rental Center, Duluth, Minn.
“The event was perfectly timed as we are all looking forward to kicking off our busy season,” says Chad Wagner, president, A1 Rent It, Wayzata, Minn., and ARA of Minnesota treasurer. “I met two new operators and made two new friends. Plus, I got to chat with many of my longtime peers about the upcoming rental season, all while chucking an axe or two!”
Even the youngest members of the Minnesota rental scene shared in the fun.
“It was wonderful being able to see everyone and chat, whether talking business or just playing catch up. I had all three of my kids with me and if I was to ask them, they would happily attend another ARA of Minnesota event!” says Brittany Vruno, CERP, office manager, Crown Rental, Burnsville, Minn.
